SSBNA Fall Safety Festival
The 16th Street Business and Neighborhood Alliance (SSBNA) through the generosity of the City of Phoenix Block Watch Grant Program sponsors a community event for families and businesses each fall in October. The event is held at 1316 E. Cheery Lynn at the LDS Church. Your business is invited to participate, along with hundreds of neighborhood residents.
Tie Together Fun, Education, and Neighborhood Resources
We want people to have fun, learn about safety, and develop positive associations with neighborhood businesses and resources such as the Business Alliance and its members, the Fire Department, and Phoenix Police Department. The simple idea is to bring people together, invite them to meet each other and to learn about safety, reward them with fun games, activities, and allow the neighborhood businesses and resource groups to sponsor and participate so that neighbors recognize that they make a positive contribution to the community.
At the Festival, the Fire and Police Department will have vehicles and safety demonstrations. There will be activities for kids, including games and
Trunk-or-Treat. There will be a special self-defense and safety presentation. Neighborhood businesses can advertise on posters or handouts and participate in Trunk-or-Treat. Businesses are also encouraged to provide a raffle prize.

The Role of a Neighborhood Business
Businesses are invited to sponsor concessions, Trunk-or-Treat attractions, or even safety displays. Joe’s Plumbing might sponsor the helium balloons, and put their own logo on the balloons or put a business card on the balloon string. Bob’s Auto Repair might sponsor a Trunk-or-Treat space, putting Halloween decorations on their tow truck, passing out candy to kids, and business cards to the parents.
Each business would provide the people and materials needed to run their concession or display. This would be supplemented by volunteer support to help move the crowd through safety displays, games, and concessions.

How Do You Participate?
Sign up today. There are opportunities to sponsor concessions, such as a popcorn stand or an ice cream booth. There are also Trunk-or-Treat spaces using your business vehicles as the basis for the display.
